Marketing has been in the forefront of applied learning. Students in Marketing Education programs often participate in cooperative education or internships in which they can test and improve job skills in a business while they are improving their knowledge of marketing and business practices in the classroom. In addition, Marketing Education develops students' leadership, decision-making, and team skills through the activities of DECA, the national association for marketing students. Purposes 1. To unite, into one statewide organization, people who are interested in marketing education. 2. To promote the interests of marketing education throughout the State of Michigan. 3. To unite with other occupational associations to initiate and promote legislation for the betterment of marketing education specifically and occupational education in general at the local, state, and national levels and to inform the membership of pending legislation. 4. To provide a means for the investigation of problems which are of special interest to teachers and coordinators, and the general improvement of marketing education at the local, state and national levels. |
